My thoughts on "To All The Boys P.S. I Still Love You"

OK, so it's finally out and I, being a hopeless romantic in love with these movies, just had to watch it as soon as I could. And I did. And here are my thoughts while watching it. Also, have in mind I freaking love romance movies so I'll let some things slide more than other people would.

Note: There are spoilers in here.

• I LOVE that we're starting right where the last one ended, with the first date.
• She is so cute getting ready.
• It is awkward that she's thinking about them ending on the first date. I get it, but I wouldn't tell him that.
• Her being so awkwardly cute is the best.
• I love that LJ and her sister went out of their way to please her father and family.
• How does she immediately have feelings toward a guy she hadn't seen in forever just because he wrote her back?
• Volunteering at different places really isn't that big of a deal. Just do your thing. Separately.
• Of course, the ex-girlfriend is still a bitch.
• And, of course, PK is so late because we need to make him a bad guy now cause we need room for a new guy.
• And then they have a perfect date which is cute.
• She didn't put ANY milk into that bowl of cereal. What is that?
• The sister playing a matchmaker is a bit boring and creepy when it comes to setting up her father with the neighbor.
• I like Stormy.
• Of freaking course the only guy volunteering with her is her crush from 10 years ago who coincidentally wrote her back just a few days ago.
• She is totally in love with Peter, but still SO confused when it comes to John? Whom she hasn't seen in years!
• It made me sad seeing her waiting for her Valentine's surprise and PK's locker.
• Her gift was cute, thoughtful and from the heart.
• Him texting her to get out of the party when she clearly wasn't having a good time was sweet.
• The car scene was actually really cute. Even the sex talk because she was awkward about it and he was understanding. Her imagining Jen was a bit much. Haha.
• Nothing more romantic than old people playing Bingo.
• Seriously, at this point, why didn't she tell John she is with Peter now?
• Yeah, this tree-house scenes are awkward.
• Is she really playing dumb and trying to convince us that she didn't know she wasn't supposed to flirt with John because she has never been a girlfriend before?
•  Again, of freaking course, John plays the piano.
• I actually liked the dinner tradition. It's cute these two had an initiation into the family.
• I didn't read the books so this would be a spoiler, but I found out that Peter actually waited for Jen as soon as the first movie came out. So, awkward.
• I'm with Laura on this one. But Peter is also right here a bit.
• And I really liked the two former best friends talking it out and being friends again.
• But we needed this one kiss that didn't feel natural at all (to me) for her to realize things. I wonder will Peter ever find out about it.
• Stormy is being great again.
• And the ending is cute. Him opening with driving in the snow was SO cute and the rest is history.

Being a romantic soul that I am, I liked the movie, but I expected more. The first one was way better for me. Again, I didn't read the books so I didn't know everything that was coming, except the him waiting for Jen in the hot-tub, but I still expected more. I didn't feel anything between John and LJ. Maybe that was just me. But I am looking forward to the third part.

My thoughts on "Where Hands Touch" movie

I saw this movie right when it came out and then I watched it again cause I wanted to write this post. So here are random thoughts I got while watching it.

• insinuating rape will be the punishment sickens me
• people discriminating her like this also makes me sick, but I understand it given what era it was
• it's disappointing to imagine a better life in Berlin, but then ending up in the same shit
• Gunther is a sweety
• her working should have been a way out
• I like how young Lutz wants to help his country
• she is clueless; how is her mom more aware of her being black than she is?
• just sign the damn papers
• Lutz is also very polite young guy
• that Gunther scene twisted my stomach
• their mom is teaching them good; Jews are also humans, black people too
• Lutz being proud of himself and his father putting him down is not OK
• the woods scene is cute; he is sweet and supportive
• everybody is so confused there are black people in the world
• Lutz really wants to go to war
• OK, you are German, but you're still different and you can't be so blind
• OMG the hands touching scene and the kiss was so emotional
• her mom is so sweet for waiting; she is so worried
• her brother being transformed into Nazi and hating his sister is the worst
• I wanted to kill the man who burned her papers of being German
• his father is obviously smart about this war; just get through it however you can
• them being so nervous together in his house is so cute and obviously a sign of spending the night together
• so he hates Jews, but still think they should just move away or be useful working for the country and not be killed - that's good, right?
• I don't know what to think about him lying about being a virgin
• she is so in love with him
• he is so sweet to follow her home and protecting her
• her mom is so strong, I really felt that when they took her
• their aunt and uncle didn't want to take them, but they took her little brother in because he is white - great parenting...
• I will forever be confused how women could be such bitches to other women
• this ashes scene was heart breaking
• him being in the same camp was expected
• and her being pregnant was also expected
• it's a good thing he can now protect her, but also has to play tough
• he is so ashamed to be there, but also just wants to survive this war
• even though he is aware of everything, he is so happy to be a father
• him threatening that girl is so weird, but also necessary
• oh now she realizes she is black? OK, but is still stupid about it
• I feel so bad for him actually
• his father is also a good guy, knowing basically everything and still keeping quiet for his son's sake
• seriously, you two have come so far to act this stupid. Couldn't you two just meet quietly? It's a mess there and probably nobody would notice. Or he could have asked for her to be his servant or a whore or something just to get her. His father could have asked as he had a higher rank.
• and OMG the ending is so great I cried

All in all, I loved the movie. It's typical romance-war-forbidden love type, but I love those. With all happening in the movie, I can't help but think why did her mother give birth to her? She seems like a smart woman, she knew this would be happening and she should have known better that they all would be in a lot of trouble! Also, I love how fearless Leyna is, but she is also quite stupid in her actions. You have to realize you're different. It sucks and it's not fair, but if you know the situation, just keep quiet. Also, second to last thought I had is basically my main issue with this movie. I know I always need a happy ending, but I certainly didn't expect this. I was so surprised who died and how...

Movie review: Molly Maxwell

Plot: Movie is set up at Phoenix Progressive School where students are encouraged to find their own (weird) passion and to stand out in the most creative way no matter which subjects they choose. We soon meet Molly, a student who seems to be not interested in anything but spending time with her friends and waiting for school to be over. She also has quite a friendly relationship with the school director who tells her she needs to find an extra activity to pass the grade. She had no idea what she would like, but to the rescue comes her new English teacher Ben who encourages her to take up photography as he has seen her taking photos of her friends. He also becomes her mentor and sets up a dark room and teaches Molly how do develop photos. One day, in a need of some inspiration, Molly suggests going to an island near by. Ben agrees after some time and they spend a great day together followed by an awkward ferry ride home. Even though Ben asked her not to, Molly develops photos of him and her that day and decides to personally deliver some. When he invites her into his apartment, the two have quite awkward conversation and silences in between. Suddenly, Molly decides to take her clothes off and Ben slowly approaches her. The two share a moment, which was also awkward because Molly put her head under his shirt, but also sweet and almost innocent. They don't say a word and she leaves. Since he is still her teacher, they share some moments in the school and dark room, but Ben is well aware of the rules and the consequences. When she visits him again, he tries to avoid their chemistry, but soon kisses her and makes up a rule: clothing stays on. So they kiss, cuddle and then she leaves again. They meet again at his place and Molly tries to have sex with Ben, but he sticks to his rule and Molly admits she actually has no idea what she is doing. School director suspects there's something more happening between them so he fires Ben and invited Molly's parents who ground her. With their final attempt to sleep together, Ben again ends it knowing how the things are. Molly, obviously hurt, goes to a party and sleeps with a random guy, texts Ben she is no longer a virgin which she soon regrets. They meet one last time at a pub where he's preforming. Molly is asked to leave in the middle of the show because she's under-aged.

My impression: I don't know. You know I'm a sucker for romance, but there was something missing here. First off, if she was in college, I wouldn't mind it, but they're portraying it like she is 16 (I think) and he is 30 or something which is kinda gross to me. However, they do have a great chemistry. I loved it how he stayed true to himself and they didn't actually have sex because it's different from what most movies would do. He knows it's wrong and he could be fired and go to jail for this, but he is also torn cause he feels something for her too. Although, I would say the fact that she was in his apartment cuddled up in a blanket was already crossing a line. I love how awkward their scenes were, because that's exactly what I would expect from a young student and her teacher if they were ever to be in this kind of relationship. I also really liked that her mom stood by her in the end because she saw that all was actually good, he wasn't harming her and Molly just needed to find her path. However, I missed some more plot and the ending was really not for me. I need a part 2 now because I actually want them to meet in a few years.

Recommendation: I read a lot of reviews online and they're all positive. I would recommend this movie because it's more real than some other teenage movies with this plot. It also shows how you can't pick love or attraction. I mentioned it above that I was missing more plot and I personally skipped scenes with her friends, but you may like them cause it shows how friends can easily fall apart when there's a new person or boyfriend in the picture.

What I like in romance movies

If you've been reading this blog for a while, or if you know me, you should know that romance movies are my favorite. I can rewatch the same movie 40 times and still feel the same butterflies as I did the first time. So, what's so great about them?

Before I move on, I have to say I also love action movies, war themed movies especially and some other, but romance is always a safe bet for me. Even if they really really suck, I'll kinda like them. No, I won't hate them. There. Also, someone actually commented on this blog before that I live in a fantasy and I need to stop watching TV and romance. Why would I want that? Let me explain...

...I, obviously, am not totally over it...

First, let's address that comment. Unfortunately, I deleted it because I wasn't feeling good after I read it and it was a spur of a moment, but I wrote a post how I'm miserable being single and so on and a girl commented that I have to grow the fu*k up and see the real world, adding that I should never watch a romantic movie again because I clearly can't think straight. It really hit me back then, some time in 2016 I think and I, obviously, am not totally over it because I still think about it and remember it... However, those days are behind me, but my love for romance is still here.

...I like to see what I would like to experience.

It's true, I'm a sucker for romance. I'm, what you would call, an old-fashion romantic. I love that subtle flirting, bringing roses, going slow... And that's exactly what I love about those movies. Hence my love for Nicholas Sparks movies. I love seeing sharing looks, accidentally touching and then sharing a moment and overthinking it, that slow first kiss... I love awkwardness and them being confused because it's more real. Or so I think. Sure, there are some love making scenes thrown in there, but to be honest, I'm usually not so keen to see them. If they're also slow, romantic, filled with love, then yes, but those quick s-e-x scenes kinda kill the moment for me. Of course, I like to see what I would like to experience. I think that's normal and understandable. Weirdly, I also love the crying, fights, jealousy and all that. I guess I'm trying to experience it all? I can't explain this one. Haha.

Gosh, I have to sound really pathetic now, or weird.

I can literally feel butterflies for some movie couples. It's weird that I never felt it for myself and I didn't actually know what were people talking about, but then I realized I have them when I watch movies. Or TV shows. And it's true it's the weirdest, but the greatest feeling ever. Gosh, I have to sound really pathetic now, or weird. I don't know what's on your mind. That's also why I usually cry when I'm watching romance. I'm watching something I want, but don't have. And let me just tell you, I usually start crying at the first touch, that thought "I love him and he doesn't love me" (which is obviously a complete lie cause he loves her too) or if in a scene he tries to kiss her and she is all nervous about it. Stuff like this usually.

...I still believe that prince charming is real...

To some extent, I still believe that prince charming is real, that I'll have that movie romance and I'm not ready to give up on that. Maybe I'm too old to think this way, but I can't really go against my feelings. The difference between then and now is that I'm more aware of the world and romance so I know that I'll probably have to alter some expectations and it may not all be perfect, but I'm sure I want a guy that can do something romantic every once in a while. I think the picture here represents what I actually like pretty well.

Also, just in case you're about to leave a comment here, let me just clarify that I'm not currently sad about all this, I'm not depressed and I'm well aware that I can live a good life by myself. However, my ultimate goal for some time in the future is to have a husband and a family so I do think about it here and there.

Plot: Movie follows high-school group consisting of 4 girls; 3 of which are named Heather and one Veronica who is new in the group. Soon enough, Veronica realizes that all Heathers are mean after they forge a jock's handwriting playing a joke on a overweight girl telling her he likes her. After she is publicly humiliated, Veronica starts her journal saying she wants the leader Heather dead. Then we meet the new student, J.D. who pulls out a gun on two guys trying to scare him and bully him. After that, Veronica is pretty fascinated by him. Hers and Heather's 1 relationship is still weak, but Veronica decides to go to a frat party with her. At the party, she refuses to sleep with the college guy and Heather 1 vows to publicly shame her at the school. The next morning, Veronica and J.D. met and went to Heather's 1 house when J.D. offered her a hungover cure, but it was drain cleaner. Heather died and Veronica wrote a note making it a suicide. Heather 2 took over the group. Two jocks spread a rumor about Veronica which gave her a good idea to pull a prank on them. She was meaning to scare them with guns loaded with fake bullets. However, J.D. replaced those with real ones and both of the guys were killed. Again, Veronica and J.D. covered it up by writing a suicide letter making them a couple that couldn't bare not being in the open with their relationship. The overweight girl from the beginning tries to kills herself by throwing herself in front of the car. However, she is just badly injured and ends up in a wheelchair. Heather 3 then calls a radio station complaining about her life what Heather 2 and Veronica hear and the following day Heather 2 tells her story to the whole school. Heather 3 then attempts suicide during the class, but was stopped by Veronica. Veronica then realized what her life is becoming and tells J.D. she's not doing murders anymore. She also fakes her death by fake-hanging herself in her room because she expected J.D. to come and kill her as he did. He also told her, while he thought she was dead, that he was going to blow up the school. The next day Veronica finds him with bombs and shoots him. The bombs are stopped, but J.D. survives and eventually blows himself up in front of the school.

My impression: Starting with the movie being a black comedy. I just thought it was black. There's a lot of dead people and covering up murders, but no comedy at all. I didn't know anything about the movie so I thought the relationship was a cute part, but then it all took the wrong turn. Them killing people and not realizing how serious it is was more annoying than funny. There's also not a lot of plot there.

Recommendation: I would definitely not recommend this movie! I know it has pretty high grades on all the sites, but I almost died of boredom. I found the plot very weird and not making any sense. I didn't find it funny at all even though it's supposed to be a comedy. The only good thing about this movie are the actors (young Christian Slater) and they did a good job, but the movie is still terrible to me. There's also a musical and some series. Also, they say it's a base for Mean Girls.

Thoughts I had while watching Fifty Shades Freed

I don't know why I wanted to watch the third part when you all know how I feel about the first two. If you don't know, you can find out in my post Movie review: Fifty shades of grey + Fifty shades darker. However, the last part ended with a proposal, and I'm a hopeless romantic, so I had to see how this will go. Instead of writing a full review, I'll write down my thoughts I had while watching the movie. There will be a short review and my impressions at the end.

1. First scenes are a montage of how happy they are and it's too long and it annoyed me. Or maybe the song annoyed me.
2. Christian is jealous as usual.
3. He's still into this SM stuff while she's not so sure she likes it.
4. Anna is super polite to the staff and wants to be a "normal" person.
5. Sawyer the personal bodyguard is cute and he's probably my favorite character here.
6. Christian is possessive to the extremes.
7. Nice car, Christian!
8. No one could stay this calm during reckless driving like this and it's definitely not sexy. Ending a dangerous car chase with sex is normal, of course.
9. Was Sawyer still on the speaker during their car sex?
10. Kissing close-up was too close.
11. The way she speaks to Christian is too annoying. Like she's either talking to a child or she's scared.
12. I get it it's their thing, but him punishing her sexually for anything is getting old.
13. Hanna and Sawyer - yes, please! But nothing happens here because this is only a 2-people movie.
14. Here's finally the song! Almost 50 mins into the movie and I can hear Liam and Rita - For You.
15. First really cute thing Christian did was bringing her friends on a vacation with her.
16. Christian sings and plays piano? OK, now I like him just a tiny bit more.
17. Of course there's a fight in a club cause someone hits on Anastasia while Christian is there.
18. He is pissed off that she is pregnant cause she missed her shots, but hey, there are condoms guy!
19. God, I wouldn't want to stay with him after he said he doesn't want the kid cause she'll choose the kid over him. Of course she will. WTF?
20. "We leave for work in 20 mins." and yet you just went to wash your hair? I don't think so.
21. Her giving him a reality check about the baby is really needed here. You go girl!
22. Of course he's tracking her phone. And it comes in really handy when she gets kidnapped...
23. Telling the paramedics to be careful with the victim is not really necessary, especially when they're already rolling her bed in a hospital hallway.
24. So she needs to almost die for him to realize he wants this baby. And of course he cries for the first time in his life now because we need to see he's a changed man.
25. Oh there's the song, Ellie - Love Me Like You Do, while we're watching a cute montage of their story which, of course, ends with a weird sex SM scene. You just had to ruin this for me, right?

I think 25 is an OK number for this. I actually wonder how you reacted to some of these... Anyway, I'm supposed to give my short impressions of this.

My impressions: Considering the first two, this is a masterpiece. No, but really now...I actually kinda liked this movie. Maybe because I'm, as I said before, a hopeless romantic and I love seeing these character changes, but it's not as bad as the first two. If Christian wasn't so possessive and creepy, and if Anastasia wasn't so scared and weird all the time, this would be an usual rom-com. If you skip the sex scenes, it can still be one, just a bit annoying one. I like the songs I linked, so that's a plus. You can see their love here, but it's so messed up.

Movie review: Baywatch

Info: Baywatch is a 2017 action comedy film based on the television series of the same name. The main stars are Dwayne Johnson playing Mitch, Zac Efron playing Matt, Jon Bass playing Ronnie, Alexandra Daddario playing Summer, Ilfenesh Hadera playing Stephanie, Kelly Rohrbach playing CJ and Priyanka Chopra playing Victoria. The plot follows lifeguard team led by Mitch Buchannon. Along with just saving drowning people, they decide to take down a drug lord. Movie is 1 hour and 56 minutes long.

Plot: The movie starts with Matt Brody (Zac Efron) coming to the beach to be a lifeguard in Mitch's (Dwayne Johnson) team. We immediately find out why Matt is there. He was/is a famous swimmer who led his team, but lost the championship so they kicked him out of the team and he's broke. He also had to take this job as a part of a plea deal. Also, captain thought Matt was popular enough for Baywatch publicity. However, he soon finds out that Mitch is not fooling around and he takes his job very seriously. Even too seriously when he, with his team, takes on a case of finding a drug dealer that has been popping up on his beach. Along with this plot, there's one that follows their friendships and relationships where we see a spark between Matt and Summer, Mitch and Stephanie and then CJ and Ronnie. After hearing what the Baywatch team is doing, the captain fires Mitch and puts Matt in charge. Determined to prove he didn't plan this, Matt decides to take down the drug dealer. He asks the team for help and they all go undercover on a boat with Victoria Leeds, the mastermind behind the drug case. The action doesn't go as planned and Matt is trapped and Victoria tries to drown him. Mitch saves him in the last minute and they eventually take down Victoria (Mitch blows her up with fireworks). Captain is arrested and the team is back together with Mitch leading them. The last scene reveals new captain Casey Jean (CJ) Parker (Pamela Anderson).

My impression: As I was a huge fan of Baywatch series, just hearing the names of the characters was great. I liked that they embraced some parts as parody and they admitted some scenes were over the top. And it blended in with the rest of the plot really nicely. Slow motion scenes were sometimes too much, but they also addressed them immediately in the movie which was a nice change from all the rest of the movies. Appearance of David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson just made this movie even better. The original Baywatch team came and that's all I needed. However, I don't think this new cast lives up to the original cast (no one ever will, of course). There we got bunch of episodes and characters could evolve. It's not the case here.

Recommendation: Well, this is hard to say. I know the critics hated this movie and it doesn't have high grades on any site. However, me being a Baywatch series fan, I liked it. Nostalgia probably hit me, but I can't complain too much. However, there isn't actually a plot. There is, but there isn't much happening (if that would be a good description). You can also take this as a parody to original series. Even though I loved it, I think majority wouldn't and it's a movie you'll either love or hate, I think.

Movie review: A Dog's Purpose

Info: A Dog's Purpose is an American comedy-drama film released in January 2017 based on the 2010 novel of the same name by W. Bruce Cameron. The film stars Bryce Gheisar playing young Eathan, KJ Apa playing teenage Eathan and Dennis Quaid as adult Eathan. Juliet Rylance, Britt Robertson playes teenage Hannah and Peggy Lipton plays adult Hannah. There are also John Ortiz as Carlos, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Maya and Nicole LaPlaca as Wendi. It is 1 hour and 40 minutes long.

Plot: We're first introduced with the dog dying and immediately transferred to the new puppy. The story is told from the dog's perspective so we hear a lot of his/her inner voices and thoughts. Puppy Bailey soon becomes a part of a family with Ethan, his mom and dad who is not really keen on having a dog in the house. After few years, Ethan grows up and becomes a teenager that meets Hannah and they start dating. Also, in Ethan's teenage years, his father becomes a drunk and, after a huge fight, Ethan asks him to leave and never come back. Ethan starts to have a good life when he's finally recognized as a good football player and gets a scholarship for his college. One night, Ethan's classmate Todd throws a firecracker inside his house and the whole house gets on fire. Unable to escape, Ethan and Bailey get out of the window, but Ethan hurts his leg badly enough not to be able to play football anymore. He's desperate and bitter so he breaks up with Hannah. Bailey soon dies of old age. We're introduced then to a new german shepherd puppy Ellie that's a police dog with her police officer Carlos. They go on a mission once and Ellie gets shot and dies. Another puppy gets into the movie. This time is corgi named Tino that accompanies college student named Maya. He has a good life with her and her new family, but dies of sadness and old age after his friend never comes back from the vet. Last puppy is called Waffles, then Buddy and then Bailey again. He starts off as a pet to weird and abusive couple and he escapes. While he's wandering around he gets himself near a park where he notices a familiar smell and he's soon in his old neighborhood. He then finds Ethan who is at his farm, alone and pretty sad. After some thinking, Ethan takes Waffles and renames him into Buddy. Buddy soon reunites Ethan and Hannah, as she was the smell he recognized in the park. After showing Ethan some tricks and responding to some catch phrases only the two of them knew, Ethan realizes it's his first dog Bailey. The movie ends with dog's voiceover: life is about having fun, saving others, not getting caught in the past or regrets, finding someone to be with and living for today.

Impressions: At first I didn't get what was happening with dog dying in the first minute, but it all got into place after few moments. I immediately fell in love with all the dogs and the way they're presented. They also went through all stages of life and showed some difference in thinking. As I'm always connected to the dogs anywhere, I felt what he/she was feeling. I was so sad at times and I was also happy for the dog. Bailey dying in the first half of the movie almost made me stop watching it, but I'm glad I didn't do that. It basically only gets better afterwards. Even though I missed the old dog, him coming back in the different looks is totally sweet and an ending I've waited for.

Recommendation: I'm a huge dog lover, so of course I loved this. I have to warn you that the plot kinda gets boring in the middle with some changes, but it all comes around in the end. Also, you have to get into the whole reincarnation idea if you want to like it. The main character is a dog which may turn you away from this movie, but I promise animals don't talk here. It's easy to follow it and get in the dog character. Although it doesn't have high grades, I would recommend it. It's cute and sad and happy in the same time.

Movie review: Fifty shades of grey + Fifty shades darker

 Note: Plot has spoilers (obviously, duh), but you can read all the rest without me revealing anything.

Info: Fifty Shades of Grey is a 2015 American erotic romantic drama film directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. Stars of the movie are Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and a young business magnate Christian Grey played by Jamie Dornan. It's 2 hours and 5 minutes long. Fifty Shades Darker is its sequel with the same leading roles. This movie is 1 hour and 58 minutes long.

Note: Not recommended for persons under the age of... what? 12? Not for kids!

Plot 1: The first movie starts with Anastasia having to interview Mr. Grey instead of her roommate who is a journalist, but is sick so she can't go herself. Anastasia asks Christian all the questions she was given, but gets answers to none of just partially a few. There's an obvious attraction on both sides. Interview then ends and Anastasia is worried about the job she's done. When she gets home, she finds out Christian has sent all his answers to her friend on email. After a day (?), Christian finds her working in a shop selling tools and all that stuff. He buys ropes and some other stuff. The entire conversation is awkward cause she is attracted to him and he is to her. After spending some really short time together, they sleep together and we find out that she was a virgin just until now. They sleep together few more times until he shows her "the room". He has a room full of SM stuff and sex toys that basically nobody knows about and every woman has to sign a contract saying that she is willingly doing this. She can also leave whenever she wants and they also have a safe word for him to stop. Even though Anastasia wants to really date him, he is not interested in that. After few "sessions" she is tired of it and wants a real relationship. Then he reveals his childhood story about being sexually abused by his mother's friend. She then asks him to show her his worst behavior which leads to him hitting her with a belt. She realizes that it's too much for her to handle and leaves him in tears. As the movie is ending, they are separated.

Plot 2: Second movie starts where the first one ends. They are separated and she is trying to start her life again without him, while he is suffering and wants her back. When they meet, he admits he wants her back and  he's willing to keep his SM obsession down. After some convincing, they get back together and they somehow have the normal relationship. There are scenes with them just hanging out and cooking together. She wants to take it slow, but after some time, they sleep together. She asks him to show her his room again. He is a bit confused with this, but agrees and their relationship takes a new course where she starts to enjoy his SM games. We also meet the lady who shaped him played by Kim Basinger. She wants Christian to stay loyal to her and his SM roots, but is disappointed when she realizes he loves Anastasia. The second movie ends with a beautiful scene in a fake garden/pool where Christian gets down on one knee and proposes to Anastasia. She says yes.

My impression 1: I hated the first movie. If you read my plot here, I've probably left out some things because I mostly skipped the parts of it. It was too boring to watch. There's no reason for them to get immediately attracted to each other, there's no reason for her, a good girl, to lose her virginity to a guy like that after knowing him for 2 days. Also, as far as I know, for SM games, both sides should be into it (credits to my friend Joan for making this point). So it mostly looks like sexual abusing than pleasure. Also, she leaves in tears and is often really uncomfortable because she wanted to be near him, but he clearly stated that she can stop it all and leave whenever she wants.

My impression 2: In comparison to the first one, this is a better one. There's more "normal" stuff and scenes that I liked more. There's also more-or-less normal relationship story. However, the whole point of first one was that it was all too much for her and she wanted out. This is supposed to be on her terms and she just pulls him back into it when he's clearly struggling to get away from all that stuff just to make her happy. I didn't get that plot twist in her head at all. There are only two scenes I love - where he lets her touch his chest (you'd have to watch it to realize why this is a big thing) and the ending.

Recommendation: Unless you've already seen these, don't watch them. I know it's hard to stay away form a movie this big and popular with very controversial story, but you're seriously not missing much. As I said, I skipped most parts because they were either boring or the sex scenes were just weird and too long for me. Also, keep it in mind that these are not the movies you would wanna watch with your family. If you're expecting full on sex show, there's more to this movie. It's about emotions and being emotionally unstable which greatly affects your personal life. However, even though I like that storyline, the plot itself doesn't make much sense.

Movie review: Billionaire Ransom (2016)

Note: Plot has spoilers (obviously, duh), but you can read all the rest without me revealing anything.

Info: Billionaire ransom (somewhere called Take down) is a 2016 movie starring Jeremy Sumpter as a lead role of Kyle Hartmann, Pheobe Tonkin as Amy Tilton and Ed Westwick as Billy Speck. Although Kyle is the lead character, there's a group of his new friends and enemies that the plot revolves around. This action, adventure and crime movie is 1 hour and 47 minutes long.

Plot: Kyle is a rich kid that gets himself in trouble when he crashes his car after getting slightly drunk at the party where he met Amy. He gets out, but leaves Amy to die. His father takes care of everything as Amy survives, but sends him to Scottish camp designed especially for rich children that need to learn how to grow up and take responsibilities. Once Kyle gets there, he meets more rich kids who all learned to live by the rules there. There's also Amy who tells everyone what he did although Kyle swears he doesn't remember what happened that night. After finally realizing that he can't beat the system there, Kyle starts acting by the rules and actually starts enjoying his time there. Amy also points out that she is free there for the first time ever. Suddenly, a group of criminals, with Billy as a leader, invades the island and takes everybody as hostages, except Kyle who wasn't in the room when they barged in. Kyle then runs away and figures out a plan to rescue his new friends after seeing all guards are dead. After rescuing his friends, group splits into two and they start a war against these criminals. Some of them actually kill some criminals. However, they often get into life and death situations. Amy also saves Kyle's life. While taking care of hers wounds, Kyle kisses Amy. When the plan to disable Billy and not kill him goes wrong, there's a final fight between Kyle and him. Kyle eventually throws Billy off a cliff and Billy dies. In that time, parents of the kids, who were blackmailed for one billion dollars ransom the whole time, come with the police. It turns out Amy's step-father arranged the whole thing so he could get the money she inherited from her late father.

My impression: I really liked this movie. I always love when characters change for the better so I loved that here too. I also really liked the romance part here which is very subtle and short, but sweet. I also didn't feel like it's almost 2 hours long. Somehow it seemed a lot shorter as there's always some action in the movie. What I didn't like were all parts when we're drawn back to their parents. Their plot was kinda boring and not that necessary. It also breaks all emotions and intensity of the plot on the island.

Recommendation? Comments on imdb say people really like it. I know I did. You would probably think it's Chuck Bass against Peter Pan, but I see something more here. There's some progress in young guy's mind and there's a good message how you can accomplish something if you work as a team. Also, all racial and status problems are resolved as the time passes and how this group evolves. Also, I liked watching Jeremy the whole time.

Movie review: Need for speed

Movie review: One Day

I got a book from my cousin called One Day by David Nichols. I found out that there's also a movie based on it. Before I start, I haven't read the book so I can't compare it. It's a romantic drama starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess as lead roles.
Notes: As usual, plot has spoilers, my impressions don't. Also, this was written way before I changed my template for reviews, so...

Plot: We meet Dexter and Emma on their graduation day on the 15th of July 1988. Although they were in school together, Dexter has no memory of them ever meeting. (They've met few times...) After he offers to walk her home, they decide to spend the night together, although nothing happens. (The part I didn't like as I'm all for big romances, but it turned out good.) Also, it's super awkward in the beginning, but Emma convinces him to do something the next day. The next day is kind of a date and they kiss but remain friends. (We see this in the end of the movie.) They continue to have a great friendship through years. (I loved their friendship so so much!!) We see Emma working at a fast food restaurant the job she hates. She wanted to change the world and she really loved writing. Dexter never shows ambition for some high education; he wants to find himself and have fun. In the 1992, Emma and Dex go on a trip together and, although Emma had some rules, they break them all and flirt. Emma got her hopes up, but it turns out Dex is not being that serious. (If you ask me, I think he just got scared.) Soon, Ian comes to work with Emma and they start a weird friendship that will eventually become a serious relationship. (I disliked this guy from the moment he entered.) Meanwhile, Dexter is a huge TV star, but he finds out people hate him so he gets depressed, starts doing drugs and slowly ruin his life. Also, his mom is seriously sick and will die eventually in the movie. In 1996, Emma is living with Ian. She meets with Dex and finally says she loves him, but she doesn't like him anymore as he has changed a lot. (This was a really sad scene to me.) We also see that neither Emma is happy with Ian, nor is Dex happy with his girlfriend Sylvie. They are reunited at a friend's wedding. On the contrary of what's written two sentences ago, Dex and Sylvie are getting married. In the following years, they get a baby, but we see Sylvie cheating on Dexter in the very next scene. (Yeah...) They are again reunited in 2003 and Emma is now dating Jean-Piere in Paris. As Dexter decides to leave Emma to live her life, she runs for him and they finally confess the feelings for each other. (Finally!) In 2004, Dex is rehearsing his wedding vows. In 2006 you see them kinda nervous for not being pregnant yet, but decide to work things out at the dinner. On the way to the restaurant, Emma is hit by a van and dies immediately. (I kinda knew something was going to happen, but I was so surprised I jumped off my seat.) Later on, we only see Dex remembering her and showing his daughter places where he went with Emma. The movie ends in 2011.

My impressions: OMG I loved the movie! I honestly thought it would be boring seeing only one day each year (one specific date), but they did a great job! Some of the stuff are not explained as they are self-explanatory and I think that's why I didn't get bored. With every year, there are some new information and changes in Emma and Dexter's lives. I'm such a sucker for romance, so if you are too, this is a movie to watch. I would say more, but I can't without spoilers, so I won't. Also, I loved the main characters!

Movie review: TMNT (2014)

Info: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a 2014 movie starring Megan Fox as reporter April O'Neal, Will Arnett as cameraman Vernon Fenwick and William Fichtner as Eric Sacks. There are, of course, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo and Leonardo, with their "father" master Splinter, as main characters of this adventure, comedy and action movie. Main bad guy is Shredder. This movie is 1 hour and 41 minutes long.

Plot: There is a group of people, called the evil Foot Clan, who are torturing the city. What the citizens of New York don't know is there are 4 vigilantes out there who are trying to protect them. Somehow, April witnesses the battle between the two groups and becomes a part of this huge underground secret. There is later revealed that one of the most powerful men out there, Eric Sacks, is actually a bad guy working for his father figure Shredder and their plan is to get rich by saving the city which they would previously poison. Ten (or something) years ago, April's father and Sacks were trying to develop an antidote in case something bad happens to the city. April's father found out about Sacks's evil plan so Sacks killed him. They were experimenting on 4 turtles and 1 rat. Although there was a fire at the lab, April managed to save the animals and they were living in a sewage ever since. Splinter took care and trained 4 little turtles to became ninjas who will protects the city. Sacks manages to capture the three of brothers, leaving Raphael to save them. In Sacks's attempt to drain them out of blood, brothers are weakened, but April comes with Vernon and Raphael just in time to give them adrenaline and save them. They all have one last fight with Shredder and succeed in stopping the poison of getting out. There is one of the last scenes where we can see Shredder taking just a bit of the remaining antidote.

My impression: I loved the cartoon when I was a kid, so watching this is a normal development of the situation. I really liked the movie, although I did skip few seconds of pure fighting. I loved the explanation scenes of how they became ninja turtles. I also loved the scene of baby turtles and seeing them as kids. While stuck in an elevator, 4 of them start being DJ's which I though was pretty spontaneous and funny scene. There was also one scene where, usually though and rebellious, Raphael has a beautiful speech (as they think they're going to die). There was one (but pretty big) thing I didn't like. It was the fact we see more of April and her point of view than the TMNT's. And I thought Splinter was very ugly. 

Raphael: I just... uh, uh... If this our last moment together, I just want you guys to know I'm sorry! I'm sorry I was so hard on you! Ugh. Everytime I pushed you I... I threatened you, I yelled at you, I pushed you beyond your limits, it's because I believe in you! I believe in each one of you! I believe in you spirit and your intelligence and your potential! And every time I talked about walking away it was because I was scared! I just didn't think I was good enough to stand next to you and call you brothers, and say to you, I love you! I love you guys so much!

Recommendation? You have to be into talking ninja turtles to watch this, because otherwise, I think you would be really bored. But if you ever watched the cartoon or know what are you getting into, I'd say to watch the movie! It's basically an action movie mixed with funny lines presented by huge talking turtles. Cowabunga, dude!

Movie review: Deadpool

I'm changing this a bit, so there will be a plot described and, of course, there will be spoilers. My impressions will also contain spoilers as I'll comment some specific scenes of the movie. If you don't want any spoilers, but would like to hear my opinion, head down to recommendation. I'll start with some basics information about the movie.

Info: So, Deadpool is a 2016 movie starring Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool, Morena Baccarin as Wade's girlfriend Vanessa, T.J. Miller as Wade's best friend Weasel, Karan Soni as the taxi driver Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, Ed Skrein as Francis/Ajax. It came out on the 12th of February as an 1 hour and 48 minutes of comedy, action and adventure.

Plot: We learn that Wade is a former member of Special Forces and has killed 41 people there. Now he has a new "job" beating up bad people. As he said it: "I'm a bad guy who gets payed to fu*k up worse people." On his new job, he meets Vanessa, a girl that is pretty much him in a female version. They spend 45 minutes of playing games and having fun. Eventually, they do end up together and the compilation of their intimate moments together ends up with a marriage proposal. It looks like everything is going well, until Wade finds out he has a cancer. Weirdly, there's a man who knows about his disease and offers an alternative method to cure him. After initially refusing the offer, he accepts it, but is soon faced with the weirdest "hospital". He is there tortured to activate his mutant gene. After all sorts of torture methods, he's finally a mutant that can regrow parts of his body and heels really fast. Unfortunately, his skin is burnt and he basically looks really creepy. After finding out what has happened, he's determined to find Francis (Ajax as he likes to call himself) who made him that way. As Francis was also a patient there, he has no feelings, including pain. He wants to go to Vanessa, but is scared how she's gonna react so he goes to his best friend Weasel who makes some awful comments about his looks, but encourages him to approach Vanessa. In mean time, Ajax kidnaps Vanessa wanting Deadpool to come so they could have a final fight. Deadpool joins with Colossus, the metal super big human-like hero, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, teenage girl who has some fire superpowers. They eventually take down and kill Ajax and Vanessa and Wade are reunited.

Impressions: I loved that this movie is not typical. There's a weird and funny intro, there's interaction with the audience and the hero is actually a bad guy you love. I hated the torturing scenes and scenes where he cuts his own hand and it grows back (creepy? gross?). I also hated the scenes of actually killing people because they're more gross that I expected. I loved, however, the humor, the snarky comments Wade always makes, interaction between him and his best friend. Also, there's a line when Wade says Ryan Reynolds got this far only because of his looks, which I found pretty great. What also attracted me to the movie is the voice of Stefan Kapičić, as I've seen him before and I like him.

Recommendation: You have to know there's a lot of swearing, killing and torturing people, nudity and sex scenes. I usually watch action movies and there's lots of killing, but cutting heads off in the middle of the street, squashed bodies and cut hands up-close was a bit much. Also, seeing Ryan's burnt face is hard to watch. But (!) it's a great movie. It's funny and not typical "hero" movie. I loved the dialogues and side comments. Also, there's a romance plot in between all of these, so there's really something for everybody. Just don't expect Deadpool to be your typical good guy hero.
